About Us

The Principles and Practices of Early Intervention site was developed as part of the scope of work of the Integrated Training Collaborative (ITC), with funding from the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA), Part C. The Infant & Toddler Connection of Virginia, through the Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Substance Abuse Services (DMHMRSAS), contracted with the Partnership for People with Disabilities at Virginia Commonwealth University to complete these modules. A dedicated group of practitioners, family members, university faculty, and Part C staff shared their time, experience and expertise to implement training opportunities on behalf of infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities and their families.

Cori Hill, Training Specialist, Integrated Training Collaborative, provides the overall coordination and oversight for the content in these modules. She has worked in the field of early intervention since 1992 as an infant program director, special instructor and service coordinator. Deana Buck, Project Director, Integrated Training Collaborative, provides administrative support to this project, and has also served as a reviewer for module content. Charles Daniel, IT Specialist II, Partnership for People with Disabilities, is primarily responsible for the operation of the Partnership’s web site, including the design and posting of content.
